John Cena returned at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view back in July and set his sights on Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship. Cena failed to beat Reigns for the title at WWE SummerSlam, but he did introduce an interesting T-shirt. Now it seems John Cena’s time in WWE is up.
John Cena has inspired an entire generation of WWE Superstars including the likes of RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Many fans were happy to see Cena back for another stint in the company.
The highlight of his feud with Roman Reigns was certainly the intense promo battle a couple of weeks ago on Friday Night Smackdown, which Vince McMahon really loved.
John Cena took to Twitter and thanked the WWE Universe for allowing him an opportunity to return and perform for the fans. He ended it by saying he’ll see them again soon.
Words cannot describe how appreciative I am that the @WWEUniverse allowed me the opportunity to return and perform. Thank you staff, superstars, and most of all FANS for giving me an unforgettable summer at “home” with my “family”. The journey takes me away now but I’ll C U soon.
John Cena is set to appear on the September 10th episode of Friday Night Smackdown at Madison Square Garden, but will no longer be staying after that due to his obligations with Hollywood.
