UFC President Dana White is notorious when it comes to cancelling big money matches for no reason. This is exactly what he did when White prevented UFC legend Georges St-Pierre from fighting boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya at Triller Club. This is due to the fact that St-Pierre is under contract with the UFC.
Oscar De La Hoya was certainly furious at the announcement and so were many other people. It came to such a point that Oscar De La Hoya even challenged UFC president Dana White to a fight.
Dana White dismissed his challenge and called Oscar de la Hoya a crackhead. While speaking during a conference, Oscar De La Hoya responded to Dana White calling him a crackhead and he certainly didn’t mince any words.
Yeah, no, I mean, just that he’s an idiot. I mean, that’s basically it. I mean, look, I’ve lived a really hard, difficult life outside the ring. And I don’t shy away from it because I’ve done a lot of work to do what’s necessary to get myself back on track. And there’s a lot of people who are struggling with a lot of issues, especially with this pandemic. So, he’s just a f**king idiot.
That’s it. I mean, that’s basically it. I mean, coming from a guy that’s never put on the gloves – Or coming from a guy who hasn’t lived this type of lifestyle that goes with the territory of being a fighter, having the pressure, of having to face the pressure. He’s just a f**king idiot. That’s it. That’s basically it.”
Oscar De La Hoya is set to square off against Vitor Belfort on September 11th. We will have to wait and see if De La Hoya will be able to win the match or not. De La Hoya also made it clear he wants a rematch against Floyd Mayweather.
