AEW Dynamite made its debut in October 2019 and since then has worked hard to provide an alternate product to what fans see in WWE. For the most part, they have succeeded, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. It seems Tony Khan has an interesting point when it comes to the main difference between himself and Vince McMahon.
The backstage environments in WWE and AEW are undoubtedly different. As a few former WWE Superstars have mentioned in the past. Both companies have their own ideals as to how they conduct their work.
On top of that, both Tony Khan and Vince McMahon conduct their business in the way they see fit and as many fans are aware, they use very different methods. Vince McMahon’s methods continue to be criticized for a variety of reasons.
While speaking to the Le Batard and Friends – South Beach Sessions podcast, Tony Khan talked about the main difference between himself and Vince McMahon. Khan stated that, unlike Vince McMahon, he isn’t trying to run companies out of business.
“I’m trying to do it a very different way, and I’m not trying to run all the other wrestling companies out of business. I’m not trying to take out every regional wrestling company, and eat their lunch and put them out of business. I don’t think that makes sense. He took a very different approach, and it worked for him really well, but he was all over the place, and [took] tons of meetings and he made lots of deals. And I’ve tried to do that over the past three years,.”
Tony Khan previously noted that AEW is finally giving proper competition to WWE, which will only help improve the pro wrestling world as a whole. Tony Khan will do things his own way and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
