Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley went the distance during their Showtime Boxing match on Sunday night. Paul won via split decision, but some fans think the whole thing was rigged. Now they are set for a rematch sometime down the line. The event almost came to an abrupt end before it even started.
According to TMZ, a bomb threat was called in about an hour before the event was set to start. This caller reportedly claimed to be from Afghanistan, and they threatened massive violence with 17 pipe bombs.
According to a police incident report, cops got a call from a person claiming to be from Afghanistan around 10:15 PM … stating he placed pipe bombs underneath the stage, in the bathrooms and under seats at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, where the fight went down.
It was said on the call that the pipe bombs were supposed to go off “in minutes,” but they didn’t. He also told cops that he was “targeting non-believers” who “should be killed.”
The police looked for pipe bombs for about an hour and a half before the event, but they didn’t find anything. The arena was still evacuated just in case.
