For the last week, an ongoing beef between Kanye West and Drake became one of the main topics of discussion in the music world. This included the instance where Drake called out Kanye West in his new song.
It was only the beginning as West even took his beef with Drake to the next level by doxxing Drake’s home address. Drake did not pay heed to that and laughed it off.
With ‘Certified Lover Boy’ finally released on September 3rd, many fans already started dissecting the album so that they can find any traces of Drake shading Kanye West. The biggest example of this was found on the track “7am on Bridle Path,” the title of which is itself a reference to Drake’s address.
“You over there in denial, we not neck and neck / It’s been a lot of years since we seen you comin’ correct / Man, f-ck a ‘Respectfully,’ I just want my respect / They tried to label me mean, I say what I mean / People that could’ve stayed on the team / They played in-between.”
“Told you I’m aimin’ straight for the head, not aiming to please / I could give a f-ck about who designing your sneakers and tees.”
Drake taunts someone whose people are “not believers” and are leaving, while all the unnamed person is buying into the press’ hype. Drake then take a shot at people who open up text conversations by using “Bro,” despite them not being in “close relation.” It is to be noted Kanye West likes to use ”bro” a lot, so it could be a reference to him as well.
There are more instances of Drake seemingly taking aim at Kanye West and due to this, the beef between the two is likely to heat up even more now. It remains to be seen what Kanye West will do in retaliation.
