Kanye West’s genius when it comes to his music and also being a businessman can never be understated. Due to this, he often fails when it comes to releasing music on time. This was especially true for the release of his ‘Donda’ album.
For the last week, an ongoing beef between Kanye West and Drake became one of the main topics of discussion in the music world. This included the instance where Drake called out Kanye West in his new song.
It was only the beginning as West even took his beef with Drake to the next level by doxxing Drake’s home address. Drake did not pay heed to that and laughed it off.
Drake finally dropped his ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album and took a massive shot at Kanye West with his “7am On Bridle Path” song. He also leaked an unreleased track featuring West and Andre 3000.
It seems West might just have the last laugh as his album captured the record for most sales of an album in a week this year. On top of that, Kanye had more activity than Drake when it came to their respective albums.
According to XXL Magazine, Drake’s album had 153 million streams on the first day compared to Kanye West’s 94 million. On the second day, West’s album streams grew to over 102 million, while Drake’s reduced significantly to 89 million.
From the looks of it, Certified Lover Boy could be gone in a matter of weeks while DONDA will be on repeat for millions of fans for a long time from the looks of it.
