Kanye West is considered a genius when it comes to being a businessman and also as an artist. On the other hand, he fails when it comes to releasing music on time. This was especially true for the release of his ‘Donda’ album.
Kanye West finally dropped his ‘Donda’ album recently and fans and rappers alike were elated after waiting for so long. It also ended up selling incredibly well.
It seems eminent rapper Jadakiss should thank his son for helping make The LOX and Kanye West on the latest ‘Donda’ album collab. Jadakiss would then provide more details as to how this came about.
While speaking to HipHopDx, Jadakiss explained how the popular track “Jesus Lord Pt. 2” came into existence. It came down to Kanye West’s camp contacting Jadakiss’ older son, which ultimately led to the collab in the first place.
“Someone from Ye’s camp actually reached out to my older son – then Ye called us the next day after Verzuz, he hit me the next morning. We flew straight there and went straight to the studio and knocked the song out. Then went and rested and came back the next day and went to the event and flew back. … It was a different experience for us, but it was super dope.”
Kanye West’s album also ended up performing better than Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ as well. It remains to be seen whether ‘Donda’ will become one of his all-time great albums or not.
