Dawson’s Creek was one of the few shows which were similar to the sit-com Friends, both in terms of quality and content. The show ran from 1998 to 2003 with six seasons.
Jackson acted with the cast of James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, and Michelle William, who were all teenage stars at the time. The show closely follows the lives of these teenagers, their friendships, romantic interests in development in the show’s town of Capeside, Massachusetts.
The show’s sudden revival after all of its seasons became available on Netflix in 2020. With Jackson being in an interview with The Guardian, he expressed that it wouldn’t be entirely appropriate if the reunion happened in a Friends-like fashion.
I think because the Friends cast were already adults when they were doing the show, it’s less jarring to see them now. If you put our mid-40s selves together on a couch now, with our creaking backs, it might shock people. Nobody needs to hear Pacey grunting when he gets out of a chair.
Dawson’s Creek still launched all of its actors into a career of stardom. They all led lives with plenty of TV series and film roles. The only time Dawson’s Creek cast got together was when Entertainment Weekly ran the story for their 20th anniversary in 2018.
