Kanye West Allegedly Wanted A Verzuz Battle Against Drake

For the past couple of weeks, an ongoing beef between Kanye West and Drake became one of the main topics of discussion in the music world. This included the instance where Drake called out Kanye West in his new song.

It was only the beginning as West even took his beef with Drake to the next level by doxxing Drake’s home address. Drake finally dropped his ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album and took a massive shot at Kanye West with his “7am On Bridle Path” song. He also leaked an unreleased track featuring West and Andre 3000.

It seems West might just have the last laugh as his album captured the record for most sales of an album in a week this year. On top of that, Kanye had more activity than Drake when it came to their respective albums.

However, Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album ended up beating Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ album streams in just three days as well. It seems Kanye West had other ideas for Drake.

While speaking to Angie Martinez, Swizz Beatz revealed that Kanye West wanted to have a Verzuz battle against Drake but he and Verzuz co-creator Timbaland didn’t want that to happen.

“Kanye was willing to do the Verzuz … He wanted to battle Drake. I left that up to them, and that’s what I told to Timb, as well. I was like, ‘Yo, they have to bring that to the table.’ They would have to agree to do that. Kanye was ready, but I don’t know where that’s at now. I’m still leaving it on them.”

We certainly wonder if a Verzuz battle between Kanye West and Drake can happen in the future as it would certainly be one of the best episodes for the show.
