Jake Paul’s current character sees him as a heel who loves getting under the skin of his opponents before every boxing match. Jake Paul was also accused of using performance-enhancing drugs recently.
Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley also took each other on in a boxing match on August 29th. The Problem Child surprisingly went the distance as he lasted 8 rounds against Woodley, which many people doubted he could. In the end, Jake Paul won the boxing match via a split decision.
On September 11, Vitor Belfort took on Evander Holyfield in the main event of the Triller event. Belfort made short work out of Holyfield as he made him topple to the floor until the reference decided to call the match. Right after that, he called out Jake Paul for a boxing match as well.
While speaking to TMZ Sports, Vitor Belfort doubled down on his challenge to Jake Paul, stating that he will teach Paul a lesson. Belfort then added that there’s no doubt he will knock out Jake Paul.
“He [Jake Paul] earned his spot, you know, he has the spotlight, he has this new following, all that. He called himself a boxer but you know, you’re defined by the people you compete against… I’d like to teach that boy a lesson…he’s gonna meet his big daddy and if he likes money like I know he likes and we got big money and there is no excuse to run away from this fight. So, he has to take it and if he don’t take it, he’s gonna show how he’s a coward, he’s looking for easy fights. So, he gotta do it man…I’m giving this opportunity for him.
I’m gonna knock him out. That’s no doubt about it. You know, that’s something that’s just gonna happen. You just need to know when it’s gonna happen.”
We will have to wait and see if Jake Paul will decide to respond to Vitor Belfort calling him out for a boxing match or not, as it seems unlikely at this point in time.
