Jay-Z is regarded as one of the most legendary rappers in the Hip-Hop world. On top of his musical prowess, Hov is also a smart businessman and is worth over a billion dollars for good reason. He also realizes that people love to gamble.
As reported earlier, it was said that Jay-Z was among the names linked to a takeover of the NFL’s Denver Broncos in a lucrative $4 billion. This would have made Jay-Z the first-ever black owner of an NFL team.
However, it seems that will no longer be happening. According to Complex, a source close to the situation debunked all reports that claimed Jay-Z was interested in purchasing the team. It was said that the Roc Nation mogul “isn’t looking to purchase” the team even if the opportunity presents itself next year.
Back in July, Denver Broncos president and CEO Joe Ellis stated that the team wasn’t up for sale, at least not at this point in time.
“There are a few options out there as to what we can do,” he said. “You’re probably aware of those. We’re going to get through this season. Our goal is to focus on that, have a good year and hopefully be competitive and be around for the postseason tournament once that begins. That’s where our focus is.
Until the season’s over, you’re not going to hear a whole lot about the future of ownership of the team.”
So it seems Jay-Z’s next venture will not make him part of history. It remains to be seen what Jay-Z will do next.
