Jon Jones is considered one of the best fighters in the history of the UFC for many fans. For the past few months, Jones had made it his life’s mission to go after Francis Ngannou’s UFC Heavyweight Championship. Jones has also been on a mission to get paid.
Bones Jones had been working very hard to make it to the Heavyweight division in the UFC. The journey has certainly been a very difficult one for him.
Jones had revealed in the past that he felt undervalued and simply wanted to be paid better. Unfortunately for Jones, it was previously stated that he will not be facing Ngannou anytime soon.
While speaking to James Lynch, UFC legend Randy Couture stated that Jon Jones got ‘iced’ for speaking up about UFC fighters being paid less.
“I think you’re seeing a trend, aren’t you? The guys that chirp about the cost, the money, what they’re getting paid, are kind of getting put on the back shelf. They’re getting iced. That’s what they’re getting for speaking up and trying to demand some transparency and their fair share.”
Dana White confirmed Jon Jones is nowhere near the UFC Heavyweight Title picture. For the past few months, Jon Jones has made it clear that he wants to return to the Octagon next year and even recently revealed that he plans on becoming a champion next year. We will have to wait and see who Jon Jones’ next opponent will be.
