Tori Amos is a true veteran in the music world as she has produced several classics such as Under The Pink, Boys For Pele and more. Now it seems her latest album drew inspiration from a serious incident that took place earlier this year.

According to Rolling Stone, Tori Amos officially announced that her first new album in four years, Ocean to Ocean, will be dropping on October 29th via Decca Records. It was said that the album came to be after the Capitol attack on January 6th.

The album drew heavy inspiration from the attack and it will tackle political upheaval and the pandemic, as well as environmental concerns, loss, healing, and empowerment.

“This is a record about your losses, and how you cope with them,” Amos said in a statement. “Thankfully when you’ve lived long enough, you can recognize you’re not feeling like the mom you want to be, the wife you want to be, the artist you want to be. I realized that to shift this, you have to write from the place where you are. I was in my own private hell, so I told myself, then that’s where you write from — you’ve done it before.”

We will have to wait and see how her first album in four years will turn out once it releases next month, as fans are certainly quite excited about it.
