The Fantastic Beasts series became very popular thanks to being a spinoff and prequel to the original Harry Potter series of films. Many people were eagerly waiting for the third installment in the series and it seems they might not have to wait too long.
The next “Fantastic Beasts” installment, newly titled “The Secrets of Dumbledore,” will be released in theaters on April 15, 2022. The third entry was initially supposed to release on July 15th but Warner Bros. decided to move its premiere up by three months.
The studio also provided the official logline for the film, as it promises to have a heavy focus on Dumbledore as well.
“Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?”
The third film made headlines last year after Johnny Depp was fired from his role of Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3 due to the domestic violence lawsuit with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Actor Mads Mikkelsen will replace Depp as Grindelwald. The cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler and Jessica Williams. It remains to be seen how the film will be when it releases next year.
