Jerry Messing made a name for himself on “Freaks and Geeks” and then became an internet sensation as the ‘Fedora Guy’ meme. He managed to beat COVID-19 after a long battle but now has to deal with another big hurdle.
According to TMZ, Jerry Messing was hospitalized back in August and placed on a ventilator. He managed to get out of the ICU and off the ventilator and is able to breathe normally with no issues and has tested negative for COVID-19.
However, the virus has left him partially paralyzed. He is unable to move his arms and legs well, and is unable to stand and walk on his own. Messing is undergoing physical therapy and using a machine to get his legs working again.
He stated that the doctors told him his recovery is going to take some time but that the situation is hopeful for him for the time being.
Jerry’s father James believes his son is in good hands at a rehab facility in Tampa that caters to people who are on the road back to recovery. We hope Jerry Messing makes a full recovery as soon as possible.
