Rapper Nipsey Hussle tragically lost his life back in March of 2019 after he was fatally shot outside his store Marathon Clothing in South Los Angeles. His alleged killer, Eric R. Holder was arrested and charged with murder in April of that year.
Earlier this year, Hussle’s alleged killer also before a court week in order to request some reconsiderations in his multi-million dollar bail. This included wanting a reduction in his bail amount.
After several delays, Eric Holder is finally set to stand trial on January 5, 2022 as announced by a Los Angeles County judge on Wednesday. While speaking to Rolling Stone, Eric Holder’s current lawyer Deputy Public Defender Aaron Jansen stated that his client is “nervous, but he knows it’s time to get the case moving to trial.”
It was also said that Holder was experiencing “a substantial mental health issue” after the death of his mother and was “off his medication” the day of the shooting, which ultimately led to the death of Nipsey Hussle.
Hussle’s loss is still being felt throughout the Hip-Hop world. We sincerely hope justice prevails and Holder gets what is due to him.
