Jon Jones was arrested on domestic violence charges on Friday. There are not many details at this time, but he remains in custody.
The UFC fighter was arrested early on Friday morning according to TMZ. That arrest was on domestic violence and tampering or injuring with a vehicle charges. He is currently incarcerated and awaits the next steps.
Our law enforcement sources tell us they received a call from Caesars Palace around 5:45 AM. Cops responded to the hotel … where they made contact with the UFC superstar.
The domestic violence charge is a misdemeanor, but that tampering or injuring with a vehicle is a felony. The 34-year-old professional fighter was in Las Vegas this week because of his 2013 fight against Alexander Gustafsson and he is being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
This is not Jon Jones’ first encounter with the wrong side of the law. He was also arrested for DUI in the past and has racked up a few other crimes along the way. This latest arrest is not a good look for him, especially as Jones tries to negotiate more money for his next fight.
As of this writing the circumstances surrounding this latest arrest are unclear. We will continue monitoring this on-going story here at Thirsty.
