16th president of the United States Abraham Lincoln’s death certificate is currently on sale and anyone who is a huge history buff and has the money to go along with it can have the certificate for themselves.
According to TMZ, the document is over 156 years old and still seems to be in very good condition, as it noted Lincoln’s infamous assassination on April 14, 1865, in cursive handwriting.
The document also noted that Lincoln’s estate was worth $85,000 at the time of his death. In the current day, its value would be around $1.42 million, which is certainly a lot of money.
David Davis, one of Lincoln’s closest friends, signed Lincoln’s death certificate after taking his body back to Illinois after his assassination at Ford’s Theater in Washington D.C.
The certificate will be going on sale at Moments In Time, with an asking price of $425,000. We will have to wait and see who will end up purchasing this important piece of history.
