NBA superstar LeBron James has just confirmed that he did in fact get vaccinated. However, James also stated that despite getting the vaccine himself, he will not be urging others to do the same.
LeBron spoke to reporters about his feelings about the vaccine at Lakers media on Tuesday. While he was initially skeptical about getting vaccinated, he did ultimately decide to go for it.
LeBron also clarified that he will not be advocating for others to get the vaccine, as he believes that it is not his job to “get involved in what other people should do for their bodies and their livelihoods.”
We’re talking about individuals’ bodies. We’re not talking about something that’s political, or racism, or police brutality. Things of that nature. We’re talking about people’s bodies and well being.
LeBron compared it to giving advice about other personal matters, such as giving job advice. LeBron stated that he does not believe in telling people what to do with their lives.
All members of LeBron’s team, the Lakers, have been vaccinated ahead of the season. However, LeBron clarified that this was a choice that all the players made individually and independently.
