Taylor Swift has always dominated the world of pop, but she wasn’t always a part of it. The Beyoncé-loving artist wasn’t always on TikTok. When she joined the platform, she dropped the most epic video for her fans.
Swift has completely gotten hang of TikTok as she is crafting quality content. She became part of the “Mamma said it was okay” trend which has been going wildly viral on September 22nd.
Taylor captioned the video “Country girls can’t go pop,” which is a reference to an argument fans threw at her way early in her career.
When the chorus hits “When mama said that it was okay / mama said that it was quite alright,” Taylor gives a shoutout to Shania Twain. She cues up pictures of Twain and on the picture of both of them together, Swift says “Learned from the best,” in the caption.
Twain commented on the video recognizing the tribute from Swift. She said “YOU INSPIRE ME” with a string of hearts and made her own version of the TikTok video. She credited Dolly Parton as the “mama” who inspired her to make the jump.
