Los Angeles Lakers’ Carmelo Anthony is certainly one of the best basketball players in recent memory as he was named an NBA All-Star ten times and an All-NBA Team member six times.
Being a veteran in the NBA, Carmelo Anthony is well aware of all the pressures and trials that come with being an athlete as well, as he previously stated that athletes are naturally depressed.
While playing for the Portland Trail Blazers last season, Anthony was benched and many wondered whether he would accept that. Ultimately, Anthony was fine with the role of being a benched player and it seems he carries the same mindset now that he is with the Los Angeles Lakers.
While speaking to ESPN, Carmelo Anthony stated that he is willing to play any role in the Los Angeles Lakers, adding that he already has a lot of experience playing basketball.
“At this point, man, whatever we need to do, let’s do it. It ain’t … ‘I can’t sit,’ and, ‘Oh, I want to start,’ ‘I want to come off the bench.’ Whatever it is, it is. I’ve had experience being a starter for 18, 17 years and had an experience of coming off the bench for one year. It’s not something I think about.”
The Lakers have a lot of depth this year and Carmelo Anthony will have to shoulder a lot of responsibilities during the latest season as the Lakers are determined to get back into form.
