The COVID-19 pandemic opened the world’s eyes to a new form of forgery. Now former NBA Player Lazar Hayward is in hot water now as he was caught faking vaccination records according to a report.
Hayward traveled to Hawaii, a state which requires vaccinations in order to enter their island. It is speculated that he turned over the fake records in order to avoid the state’s COVID-19 vaccine requirements and 10-day quarantine for non-vaccinated people.
Hawaii isn’t messing around with the pandemic and falsifying records is serious business. They have busted many tourists trying to pull a fast one and the former NBA baller is now a target of an investigation.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Hayward and Raven Randle arrived at the Lihue Airport on the island of Kauai from Los Angeles. They attempted to get around a mandatory quarantine time by submitting fake vaccination records at the airport’s Safe Travels portal.
There is a strict rule against letting people onto the island if they are not vaccinated or go through the quarantine time. The two were flagged and then reportedly “arrested on charges of unsworn falsification.”
Many anti-vaxxers decide to falsify records for vaccinations instead of actually getting the vaccine. This is an attempt to beat the system, and Lazar Hayward did not get that by authorities.
