Madonna & Britney Spears’ Infamous MTV VMA Kiss To Be Auctioned As NFT

Madonna’s lip-lock with Britney Spears took place in front of millions of viewers at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. Madonna, Spears, and Christina Aguilera were performing Madonna’s “Hollywood” together when she kissed both of the singers.

While the kiss with Britney got widespread attention, the kiss with Aguilera was largely ignored because the cameras cut to the audience side showing the then-recent ex of Spears, Justin Timberlake’s awkward reaction.

Now, the infamous shot of Madonna locking lips with Britney Spears can be yours as it’s being actioned off online as an NFT, according to TMZ.

The iconic picture was taken by Hollywood photographer John Shearer, who will sell the NFT on Cryptograph. A portion of the proceeds will go to the non-profit governmental media monitoring organization GLAAD (founded as Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), which is against slanderous coverage of LGBT people in media.

The auction will begin in the morning of October 7 and will run for 72 hours. Knowing what amount NFTs usually fetch, the bids won’t be cheap, that’s for sure.
