Conor McGregor vs. Manny Pacquiao Was Going To Happen

Dana White gave fans a huge reveal of a spectacular could-have-been. White revealed that boxing legend Manny Pacquiao would have fought the Notorious Conor McGregor himself, but the conditions for it were not met. This leaves the audiences wanting something that they didn’t even know was possible.

White took to revealing this in Dana White’s Contender Series press conference. He revealed that if only Conor would have emerged victorious, it would have happened, and that there was a lot of talk for it.

[They were going to fight] Had Conor beat Poirier! I know that they were talking about it. I know that they wanted to do it. Obviously there was a lot of things that needed to happen for that fight to happen and they didn’t ,so it didn’t, but I don’t know. I don’t know if that fight would have ever happened.

White had his doubts about the fight happening though, since the discussions between the two parties were based on a boxing match. McGregor received a shocking loss against Poirier, and was knocked out for the first time in his career.

Manny Pacquiao recently retired from boxing after he fought Yordenis Ugas, and lost. Pacquiao revealed his intent to become the president of the Philippines, so a political career probably means that he won’t be getting back into the ring any time soon.
