Emily VanCamp had a great time portraying the role of Nic Nevin on Fox’s hit series ‘The Resident’ for four seasons. However, she previously revealed that she will be leaving the show.
VanCamp finally left the show on the October 5 episode as the fate of her character Nic Nevin is finally revealed. Now it seems Emil VanCamp has finally opened up about her decision to leave the show.
While speaking to Deadline, Emily VanCamp revealed that it was ultimately due to a change in priorities as she wanted to focus more on her family than acting in the show.
”We started talking about [my leaving] a while ago. I spent so many years on network television, but then suddenly priorities shifted. I think there comes a moment in every woman’s life—in every person’s life—where it becomes less about work and more about family, and that’s what happened while I was making the show. Doing that many episodes in a different city and then you add Covid to that, most of us couldn’t see our families for almost a year. It really solidified for me that family is where my heart is at the moment.”
It remains to be seen what is next in store for Emily VanCamp now that she is out of ‘The Resident’ and more focused on raising her daughter Iris.
