Tom Cruise is known for performing his own stunts in his blockbuster action movies, and recently he was reportedly spotted learning to fly a World War II military plane. He is doing this in preparation for dogfight scenes in his upcoming movie “Mission: Impossible 8.”
The 59-year-old Hollywood star was spotted flying a 1943 Boeing Stearman Model 75 at the Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire, UK.
Another wartime plane will be used for dogfight scenes and such with the one Tom Cruise is learning to fly.
The Sun newspaper quoted a source as saying the following: “Tom had started to learn to fly a Boeing Stearman biplane earlier this year for a major stunt scene in ‘Mission: Impossible 8’. It’s obviously a highly skilled task but as usual he has no plans to cut any corners or bring in a stuntman.”
The filming for “Mission: Impossible 7” has just finished wrapping up but Tom isn’t giving himself a break, the source added. Speaking of the 7th entry in the series, Tom Cruise parachuted into the path of hikers while filming for it.
The star will play agent Ethan Hunt for “Mission: Impossible 8”, which will release sometimes around 2023.
