Venom and Spider-Man are going to appear together after a decade, the director of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” confirmed.
The two characters were seen in Sam Raimi’s 2007 “Spider-Man 3. Venom director Andy Serkis spoke about the post-credits scenes from the film where Venom is seen transported to the MCU where he recognizes Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in a Daily Bugle news broadcast.
Speaking to ComicBook, Serkis said that the appearance of Venom and Spider-Man together will be the first official crossover between Marvel’s “Spider Man” and Sony’s “Venom” franchise.
“We wanted to leave the audience knowing that these universes are going to somehow collide and we wanted to do it in such a way that it still leaves so much open and we’re not timing anything. The portal is not being crossed fully. It’s opening up more questions, I suppose, rather than sort of firmly saying [anything]….It is a tease. It’s a tease, in the fullest sense of the word.”
The “Black Panther” star added that his movie wanted audiences to know that both the universes are going to somehow collide together. He continued, saying that the portal is not being crossed fully and it is opening up more questions, rather than firmly saying anything.
You can catch the scene in “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” which is running in theatres now, and then catch Spider-Man in the upcoming Marvel film :Spider-Man: No Way Home” on 17 December.
