Taraji P. Henson is a well-renowned star in Hollywood for her roles in films such as ”The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.” She also suffered a personal setback earlier this year.
Despite all this, it seems Taraji P. Henson is embarking on a new journey in her life as she is stepping into the music industry from the looks of it.
While speaking on “Good Morning America”, Taraji P. Henson revealed that she is working on a “feel-good” EP that will signal the beginning of her music career.
“I actually have an EP that I’m working on. Surprise! I’m just working on some really good, feel-good music. I’m not trying to toot my own horn here, but it was time for a pivot because I’ve done so many iconic roles, you know what I mean? It’s like, I can’t just, you know…acting it has to be something that excites me and challenges me.”
Taraji P. Henson then stated that musical gigs such as “Muppets Haunted Mansion” and playing Miss Hannigan in NBC’s “Annie Live!” reignited her passion for music and led to her pursuing her lifelong dream.
“Like, Miss Hannigan in ‘Annie’ challenges me. That’s musical theater, taking me back to my roots. So it’s about just continuing to challenge myself…I kept saying that music, I might have missed it because I became a mother so early on in college, but God has other plans for me because the music is just really falling in my lap.”
We will have to wait and see how her first EP will turn out and whether it will jumpstart her musical career or not.
