Jon Gruden resigned from his position with the Raiders when leaked emails uncovered horrid language. He was promptly removed from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Ring of Honor. That brought some fans to wonder why he was so instantly taken out of that prestigious circle when others got to stick around.
Warren Sapp is in the Buccaneers’ Ring of Honor, and his name trended on Twitter because of it. Fans wondered why Sapp is still in that club with his multiple domestic violence offenses.
Former Buccaneers defensive tackle Warren Sapp’s past legal troubles were discussed following the franchise’s announcement that former head coach Jon Gruden will be removed from the Buccaneers Ring of Honor. Fans were not very happy about this one bit, and many took to social media.
One fan used a few of their own examples, including Warren Sapp. All those men have pretty bad offenses on their record. Compared to Gruden
Michael Pittman- Domestic Violence Chartic Darby- Domestic Violence
Cornell Green- DV(beat woman with broom stick)
Warren Sapp : multiple DV, beat up prostitute in Vegas
Another fan pointed out, “Warren Sapp was arrested for domestic battery in 2010 then arrested for soliciting a prostitute and assault in 2015.” Some weren’t really sure why Warren Sapp was trending along with “Ring of Honor,” which is also the name of a pro wrestling company. “i dont know who warren sapp is but they definitely aren’t in Ring of Honor either,” one apparently confused fan tweeted out.
We’ll have to see if this outcry from fans causes the Buccaneers to take a second look at who they have in their franchise’s Ring of Honor. If anything, this sure gave people something to talk about tonight on Twitter.
