Announced for release on Apple TV+, the series takes a deep look into the mind of a man locked in the turmoil of his own world. A prisoner, Martin “Marty” Markowitz, played by Ferrell, is urged by his sister to perhaps seek psychiatric help, enabling him to extract himself from the walls he’s built around himself. The series is based on a true life story.
The character owns a fabrics company and the dullness of his life has seemingly caught up to him. Of course the trailer leads us to believe that perhaps his issues are far deeper within the overlaying fabrics, so to speak.
In walks Paul Rudd, who plays a psychiatrist, Dr. Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf. He at first seems to be a big help to the tormented character played by Ferrell, but things go dark rather quickly it would seem.
Martin’s sister grows worried when the at first seemingly positive changes that the good doctor spawned in her brother begin to ignite a sisterly worry for him, she asking him to stop seeing him.
Likewise, Martin’s newfound friend, business partner and psychiatrist has asked him to get rid of his sister. The whole thing becomes quite the tug of war it would seem, with poor, conflicted Martin stuck right in the middle.
