Grey’s Anatomy is currently one of the longest-running television shows out there, with its 17th season having ended a while ago. The show made its debut in 2005 and was a smash hit with fans and critics alike. It remains ABC’s most popular drama.
Throughout its duration, the show has featured several characters being killed off or actors leaving the show. It was reported earlier that fan-favorite Jesse Williams confirmed that he will be leaving the show and that happened on an important episode of the show. On top of that, even Greg Germann left the show as a series regular.
Kate Walsh is reportedly making her return to the show for its 18th season, much to the delight of fans. Sandra Oh left the show many years ago and made it clear she is never coming back.
While speaking with Dax Holt of Audacy, Ellen Pompeo was asked about her plans after she is done with ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ With her contract set to end after the current season concludes, Pompeo made it clear she isn’t interested in pursuing a career in movies.
“Before, being on a network for so long, you’d literally be doomed. That definitely is not the case anymore so I probably wouldn’t do movies per se, but I probably will do some streaming television. I’m just trying to play in some different areas and do a few new things but I’m sure I’ll act again.”
Pompeo is certainly passionate about her work and a perfectionist, so much so that she even had a heated argument with Denzel Washington on the set of ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Ellen Pompeo after ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ ends for good.
