Howie Mandel appears to be home and doing much better after a frightening scene at a Los Angeles Starbucks saw the America’s Got Talent judge publicly faint. The 65-year-old entertainment Jack of all trades was getting a cup of coffee with his wife and some friends at the Woodland Hills Starbucks location when the incident occurred.
It was said that the star was responsive and able to sit up on his own before paramedics from the Las Angeles Fire Department arrived on scene. Mandel went to Twitter to address the issue and express his gratitude to the doctors and nurses who treated him as well as the fans who expressed concern.
“I was dehydrated and had low blood sugar. I appreciate the great doctors and nurses that took such good care of me. Thank you to everyone who reached out but I am doing ok!”
Initial reports speculated that blood sugar may have been the culprit for his fainting episode. Howie’s tweet confirmed that suspicion and we’re hoping that it doesn’t happen again.
Howie Mandel has been a Hollywood mainstay for decades. In the past, he wrote, produced, and voice acted on the long-running kids cartoon Bobby’s World. His contributions to stand-up comedy have also been great. He’s also done voices for famous creatures, most notably Gizmo in the Gremlins movies.
We’re sending out our best to Howie from everyone here at Thirsty.
