Nelly is certainly one of the most established rappers in Hip-Hop world right now. Despite his success he is still a human being and is prone to making blunders. That was on full display during the CMT Artists Of The Year ceremony on Wednesday.
It seems the Country Grammar rapper had a huge blunder during the CMT Artists Of The Year ceremony on October 13th. Nelly was honoring Kane Brown at the event, and then the teleprompter got away from him.
Nelly took the stage at the event to introduce Kane to the stage, but when he tried to read the teleprompter he had difficulty keeping up with the text as it scrolled across the screen. He had to stop mid-speech and ask the teleprompter operator to slow down.
It didn’t stop there as just a few moments later the text he was attempting to read was too small. Instead of doing anything about it, Nelly stopped his entire introduction completely and joked about the small font and his bad eyes.
The operator scrolled backwards so that Nelly could start over and give Kane a proper introduction. Unsurprisingly, he also got clowned for this on Twitter.
Whoever let Nelly talk on TV needs to be fired.
Bro, someone needs to check on Nelly after that.
Thankfully, Nelly was able to take it in stride and didn’t let it get to him and fans were also sympathetic about what happened as well. After all, one blunder on television won’t take away the fact that his name is attached to tons of hit songs, so he’s made enough money to afford a human moment every now and then.
You can check out Kane Brown’s reaction in the clip below. He said that Nelly “killed it.” That is one way to put it.
