Former President Donald Trump says he does not like “golden showers.” Trump spoke to sitting senators at the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) retreat on Thursday and made a reference to the years-old allegations that he hired Russian prostitutes to urinate on a bed.
The accusations stemmed from the dossier released by British spy Christopher Steele in 2016, probing Trump’s alleged collusion with the Russian government. The dossier allegedly contained information on a “pee tape” that showed Trump instructing two Moscow prostitutes to urinate on the same bed that President Obama slept on when he stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel a few years earlier. Trump’s critics used information from the dossier against him throughout his presidency, but it was just debunked just this past summer.
Trump joked about the “pee tape” accusation when speaking to lawmakers on Thursday. He also revealed what First Lady Melania Trump said when she first heard the rumor.
I’m not into golden showers. You know the great thing, our great First Lady – ‘That one,’ she said, ‘I don’t believe that one.
Amid rumors of a 2024 Presidential run, Trump cast himself as the “GOP’s savior” at Thursday’s retreat. The 45th President stressed that he has held the Republican party together over the past several years.
It was a dying party, I’ll be honest. Now we have a very lively party.
For those unaware, Urban Dictionary defines “golden shower” as: The act of urinating on someone for sexual pleasure.
Trump also castigated a number of his Republican detractors, including Mitt Romney and Ben Sasse. He stressed that the party needs to stick together and avoid splintering off into pro and anti-Trump factions ahead of the 2022 and 2024 elections.
