Batman fans are salivating right about now, and they have the long winter months still to wait before this new film hits theaters, but the full-length trailer has finally dropped for The Batman and it gives a deeper glimpse to what fans can expect from this new take based on the classic DC character. The film is directed by Matt Reeves and fans have a reason to be excited.
The Batman stars Robert Pattinson in the lead role, and yes, we’re talking about the Robert Pattinson from Twilight. Fans of the superhero should not be worried though, as Pattinson has been racking up some pretty serious roles since he played the pale vampire with a crush.
Roles like Cosmopolis, based on the Don DeLillo novel, as well as Tenet, have given the actor quite the credibility. The question that came up, or rather this issue with him being cast, was that he happened to be on the thin side. Many wondered if he was right for the role of a one-hundred and ninety pound billionaire turned vigilante.
The trailer leaves very little to the imagination though, as many questions that fans had since seeing the teaser which dropped quite a long while ago, have now been answered. We get to see much more of Pattinson in the lead role, who by the way managed to pack on a few more pounds thankfully. We also see a bit more of the story as well.
The Riddler is present, although we never see his face as the trailer progresses. But we do see a version of Penguin, who’s played by Collin Farrell. By the way, you will not recognize him. The film also stars Zoë Kravitz, John Turturro, Andy Serkis and others.
Just like the Christopher Nolan directed trilogy before this, there are two more films planned, making this too another trilogy, quite obviously. Many wondered if it was time to re-vamp this character just yet, but judging by the popularity and positive feedback so far (although there are some critics), it seems like the time might have been just right. It’s scheduled to be released on March 4th of 2022, and only in theaters.
