Rapper Pop Smoke was certainly one of the most established rappers in the Hip-Hop world. Unfortunately, Pop Smoke was gunned down on February 19 of last year, which shocked his fans and everyone around him. Now it seems his alleged killer made a controversial claim recently.
The rapper’s alleged killer Corey Walker is currently facing charges of murder and robbery in connection with the fatal shooting of Pop Smoke. He was also denied bail in the case.
According to a report by Rolling Stone, Corey Walker claimed that he only wanted to hit Pop Smoke in the head with a vase. He further added that he had no intention of ever shooting the rapper.
Attorney Chris Darden filed a motion on behalf of Corey Walker to have the murder and robbery charges against Walker dismissed. The motion claimed that Walker was not present at Pop Smoke’s residence to hurt him. It was also said that he allegedly told the shooters to hit Pop Smoke with a vase, not fire shots at him.
The lawyer further claimed that there is no evidence that Walker had entered Pop Smoke’s home with a weapon, adding that he wasn’t the shooter. Darden said Walker told authorities that he “assaulted” the shooter after learning that Pop smoke got shot. Walker’s next hearing in the case is set for December 3 of this year. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
