Kanye West’s Legal Name Change Is Now Official

Kanye West is dead (in name only). Long live Ye. The worldwide hip hop superstar today had a petition to officially change his legal name to “Ye” approved by a judge.

Kanye seems to be doing well these days. He is said to be on better terms with co-parent Kim Kardashian after their recent divorce. Now, the 44-year-old musical titan has a whole new identity.

The motion for the legal name change was approved in the Los Angeles Superior Court by Judge Michelle Williams. The rapper will no longer have a middle or last name. His full legal name is now Ye.

According to the former Kanye, the name was chosen for Biblical reasons. Ye is the most commonly word in the Bible. Ye explained that it simply means “you”. Now, the name change is official.

Ye recently listed his Wyoming ranch for sale. The property comes with a whopping price tag of $11 million. He sold a second property in Wyoming for $14.495 million.

Ye released the long-awaited album Donda in 2021. The LP sold 313,000 album units during its first week after release.
