Young Thug Reacts To Elton John Comparing Him To Eminem

Young Thug doesn’t have time for comparisons with other rappers. He’s too busy planning his opulent Slime City water park complex. He still has time to talk and he’s very good at it.

A recent article published by Billboard, pop music megastar Elton John spoke about what he thought of Young Thug. He made a direct comparison to Eminem.

“I mean, I’ve seen Marshall [Mathers] do it in Detroit, but I’ve never seen someone like Thug come in and do that. In the end, I had to leave because I think he felt a bit intimidated that I was there and I just wanted him to relax. But it’s just an amazing moment in my musical life… I have no understanding of how rap records are put together and it’s fascinating to watch.”

Charlemagne Tha God asked Young Thug on the Breakfast Club what he thought of Sir Elton’s comparison. Charlemagne interpreted it to mean Thugga was a better freestyler than Shady.

Young Thug stayed neutral with his response. He wasn’t going to start beef with hip hop royalty. Especially not with Eminem performing at this year’s Super Bowl.

While Young Thug hasn’t directly listed Eminem as an influence, he frequently references Slim Shady in his raps. Thug appears to respect Eminem enough that he doesn’t want to go there. For now, they can peacefully exist together, and rap will be better for it.
