Brian Laundrie is likely dead, according to an attorney speaking on behalf of the Laundrie family. The manhunt for the alleged killer of Gabby Petito was even joined by Dog the Bounty Hunter. It now appears the search is over.
Speaking with Chris Cuomo on CNN, Laundrie attorney Steven Bertolino said that there is a strong probability that the recently found remains belong to Brian Laundrie.
After several false alarms, it appears as though the healing can soon begin. Laundrie’s parents Chris and Roberta had pointed to the location as one where Brian may have been hiding out.
“This is the very area of the park that we initially informed law enforcement on, I believe it was September 17, that Brian would be most likely in the preserve in this particular area.”
Several unrelated bodies were found during the searches for Petito and Laundrie. Brian Laundrie became a fugitive when he left his parent’s Florida home in mid-September.
Gabby Petito’s remains were found on September 19, 2021, in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. The couple were on a cross-country “van life” road trip. Gabby Petito was only 22-years old. A medical examiner determined the cause of her death to be manual strangulation, likely by a human.
