Dexter starring Michael C. Hall took the world by storm after airing back in 2006. The show lasted 8 seasons and followed the life of Hall’s character, Dexter, who was a deeply damaged serial killer that murdered other serial killers. After the disappointing ending to season 8, it was announced that season 9 will be airing this Fall and it will take place directly after the events of season 8.
Original showrunner Clyde Phillips will be involved in the revival. Phillips left the show after Season 4, many of whom considered that the starting point for the show’s decline in quality.
It was also previously reported that John Lithgow will be making his return to the series as the Trinity Killer and Jennifer Carpenter was also said to reprise her role as Debra Morgan.
As revealed by Collider, a new image for the upcoming Dexter revival show featured the cast in front of a log cabin, showcasing both returning cast members and some new faces. Hall and Carpenter both reprise their roles from the original series. On top of that, new cast members Clancy Brown, Johnny Sequoyah, Jack Alcott, Alano Miller, and Julia Jones are also included.
Dexter: New Blood is set to release on November 7th of this year on Showtime. We will have to wait and see whether it will right the wrongs of season 8 or not as it is touted to be a proper finale for the series.
