Alec Baldwin is certainly one of the most well-known and established actors in all of Hollywood. Baldwin is known for his comedy roles but also does serious roles from time to time. However, now it seems he might be in serious trouble from the looks of it.
According to Deadline, Alec Baldwin was confirmed to be the person who fired the prop gun that killed a female crew member, revealed to be the cinematographer. It took place on the sets of Baldwin’s upcoming western film, Rust.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department was called to the Bonanza Creek Ranch movie set as they responded to a 911 caller who reported the shooting. A statement was also released regarding the incident:
“There was an accident today on the New Mexico set of Rust involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks.”
It was said that two crew members were shot and injured on the Bonanza Creek Ranch set and taken to a hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The woman would lose her life succumbing to injuries. The woman in question was revealed to be Halyna Hutchins, the movie’s director of photography.
The male crew member, who was injured and is still being treated at the hospital, is now confirmed to be the 48-year-old director of Rust, Joel Souza. Details regarding the incident are still coming in, so we will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
