Kanye West is considered a genius when it comes to being a businessman and also as an artist. As a balance, he falls very short when it comes to releasing music on time. This was especially true for the release of his ‘Donda’ album. Now it seems he is pulling hard for his album to win a Grammy award.
For a long time fans were eagerly waiting for the release of Kanye West’s 10th studio album ‘Donda.’ West didn’t drop the album during his ‘Donda’ listening parties, which infuriated fans.
However, Kanye West finally dropped his ‘Donda’ album back in August. Fans and rappers alike were elated after waiting for so long. Now it seems the album has sold incredibly well. In fact, the album became a huge success sales-wise as well.
Kanye West doesn’t have the best of relationships with the Grammy Awards. However, that doesn’t mean Kanye West doesn’t want more awards for his music either.
With the cut-off date happening last month for the Grammy Awards, Kanye West made sure to submit his music for consideration. He also took extra care to layout which categories he is aiming for a victory in via a new press release.
The rapper’s label Universal Records sent out a memo on Friday, letting people know which categories Kanye is hoping to land in at next year’s Grammy Awards ceremony. West revealed that he has submitted songs/albums for the Album of the Year category (DONDA) and Record of the Year category (“Hurricane” with Lil Baby and The Weeknd). We will have to wait and see if West’s submission will be taken into consideration or not.
