Dan Lambert’s American Top Team has been given a lot of focus in the past few weeks on AEW television. They are currently feuding with Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle and it remains a highlight every week. America’s Top Team is comprised of popular UFC fighters such as Jorge Masvidal and Junior Dos Santos.
On a previous episode of AEW Rampage, Junior Dos Santos teamed up with Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page to take on The Inner Circle. Dos Santos certainly looked impressive as he helped his team win the match.
CM Punk left WWE after the Royal Rumble in 2014 after being frustrated with the company, leading him to walk out on it. Punk had made it clear that he never wanted to go back to pro wrestling but ultimately changed his mind after debuting in AEW back in August.
Before returning to professional wrestling, CM Punk ventured into the world of MMA. He competed in two fights during his short stint in the UFC, where he lost both in quick fashion. Many fans and UFC stars alike agree that CM Punk’s run in the UFC was simply not good.
While speaking to Throwing Down with Renee Paquette and Miesha Tate, Junior Dos Santos shared his thoughts on CM Punk’s career in the UFC. Dos Santos admitted that CM Punk did not do very well in MMA.
”He didn’t do very well in MMA, but he got the courage to go there and try it. Many guys don’t even try it.”
Junior Dos Santos is also looking forward to putting Jake Hager through a table as well. CM Punk is more than happy being a professional wrestler and it is likely he will ever return to the MMA world ever again.
