Tom Brady is the GOAT QB for a reason. The god of football offense celebrated a big moment today, but then a treasured memento from that historic moment was given to a fan.

Brady hit 600 career touchdowns, and that is a huge deal. Then Mike Evans happened to just pick up that ball and toss it to someone in the crowd. Then they had to figure out how to get that ball back for Brady.

That fan didn’t toss the ball back for free. Greg Auman reports that, “In addition to the replacement game ball, the Bucs gave fan Byron Kennedy a $1,000 gift card to their team store for returning the ball from Tom Brady’s 600th career touchdown pass.”

They retrieved that ball for history’s sake, and now that fan can go ham at the Buccaneers’ team store. That is a pretty good deal, but you also have to wonder how much that fan could have made at auction if he ran right home and put the ball on eBay.

You can check out a video of Mike Evans costing the Buccaneers $1k in merch money below. They were able to talk to this fan and he surrendered his treasure. At least Brady got his 600th TD ball back.
