Kobe Bryant will forever be remembered as one of the best basketball players to have ever stepped foot inside the world of professional basketball. It has been over a year since the world lost Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna in a tragic helicopter crash and many people still have a hard time accepting his demise.

The late basketball legend’s wife Vanessa Bryant had filed a lawsuit against the helicopter company involved in the fatal crash that killed her husband and daughter. The lawsuit was also finally settled this year.

According to CNN, Vanessa Bryant revealed that she learned about her husband’s tragic passing when social media notifications began showing up on her phone. This was mere hours before she got the official confirmation from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

“I was holding onto my phone, because obviously I was trying to call my husband back, and all these notifications started popping up on my phone, saying ‘RIP Kobe. RIP Kobe. RIP Kobe,'” Vanessa Bryant said in a deposition on October 12.

Bryant and Gianna were among nine people killed when a helicopter crashed into a hillside in Calabasas, California, on January 26, 2020. They were said to have been making their way to a basketball game at the Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks when the crash happened.

Since the tragic passing of her husband and daughter, Vanessa Bryant has kept herself busy with various projects that Kobe Bryant used to work on as well. Even if Kobe Bryant is no longer among the living, he will forever be remembered by friends, family and fans alike.
