LeBron James’s contributions to the world of professional basketball cannot be understated. James suffered a serious injury to his right ankle in the Lakers’ game against the Atlanta Hawks back in March. Even after coming back, James has never been the same. It seems he recently commented on a huge record set by Carmela Anthony.
This season, the Lakers didn’t initially get a great start as they lost to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. Then they lost to the Phoenix Suns on Friday night. However, things changed for them during their latest game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
During the Lakes game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Lakers finally managed to secure their first victory of the season. It was largely thanks to Carmelo Anthony being in excellent form throughout the game. Anthony scored 28 points in Sunday’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies, giving him 27,423 career points
While speaking to reporters after the conclusion of the game, LeBron James stated that said it was “special” to see his friend and teammate Carmelo Anthony overtake Moses Malone for ninth place in NBA history in points scored.
“If there’s one person I know more than anybody on this team, it’s him. We’ve been friends for over 20 years now. To have him here every day now, it’s just a treat for me. It’s an honor. It’s a gift.
“His shot is one of the most beautiful releases I’ve seen in NBA history. I feel like it’s going in every single time.”
LeBron James also suffered an injury scare during the game, which was a cause for concern. We certainly hope LeBron James will not have to miss out on crucial game time due to possibly re-injuring himself as James and Anthony are crucial to the Lakers’ success.
