Lebron James Concerned About Re-Injuring His Ankle During Grizzlies Game

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is one of the all-time greats in the world of professional basketball. James suffered a very nasty injury to his right ankle in the Lakers’ game against the Atlanta Hawks back in March and despite making a return, James simply hasn’t been the same since the injury. It seems he was worried about injuring himself again recently.

The Lakers haven’t started off the latest season in the best way as they lost to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. Then they lost to the Phoenix Suns on Friday night. It seems that was not the end of their woes from the looks of it.

During the Lakes game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Lakers finally managed to secure their first victory of the season. It was largely thanks to Carmelo Anthony being in excellent form throughout the game.

During a defensive possession for the Lakers, Dwight Howard and LeBron James were trying to prevent a shot. Both players tumbled to the floor after being able to stop a shot. While Howard got back up from his fall, James held on to his ankle and took quite a while before getting up. James then carried on playing throughout the game.

While speaking after the conclusion of the game, LeBron James admitted he was worried about re-injuring his ankle during the fall. James also added that his ankle was sore.

”The first thing I was thinking to myself is not again. Because obviously it was almost kind of similar but not the same kind of play. I fall on into my leg and there is nothing you can do about it. I couldn’t get my leg out in time, so. So just wanted to try and take a moment on the floor just you know, hopefully it wasn’t getting worse. I had an opportunity to tie my shoe again to see if I could continue to go and I was able to continue to go. But its a little sore right now.” 

We certainly hope LeBron James will not have to miss out on crucial game time due to possibly re-injuring himself. The Lakers have just started gaining momentum so it would be very unfortunate timing. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
