Patrick Chung retired in March after a decorated career as a defensive back for the New England Patriots. Chung was a member of the team’s 2010 All-Decade team after amassing 11 career interceptions.
The Pats haven’t got a lot of good press recently, so the arrest couldn’t come at a worse time. Fellow former New England d-back Darrelle Revis recently said that nobody enjoyed playing for the franchise. TMZ is now reporting that Chung has been arrested, adding to the influx of bad news.
The 34-year-old former football star was arrested on Monday after police accused him of vandalism and assault and battery on a household member. Chung was arrested in 2019 for cocaine possession but cut a plea deal with prosecutors.
The arrest was made by the Milton Police Department in Massachusetts. The severity or details of the incident are still coming to light.
Patrick Chung is a three-time Super Bowl Champion. Chung helped shore up the back end of a stellar defense. Tom Brady served as the franchise quarterback on offense for the championship Pats.
There is no word on whether Chung violated any terms of the plea agreement he made over the 2019 drug arrest. Chung will appear in court today for an arraignment hearing.
