For almost two months, an ongoing beef between Kanye West and Drake became one of the main topics of discussion in the music world. This included the instance where Drake called out Kanye West in his new song. It seems Drake has the last laugh now.
It was only the beginning as West even took his beef with Drake to the next level by doxxing Drake’s home address. Drake finally dropped his ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album and took a massive shot at Kanye West with his “7am On Bridle Path” song. He also leaked an unreleased track featuring West and Andre 3000.
Many fans believed Kanye West had the last laugh as his album captured the record for most sales of an album in a week this year. On top of that, Kanye had more activity than Drake when it came to their respective albums.
However, Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album ended up beating Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ album streams in just three days as well. It was recently revealed by Chart Data on Twitter and Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ album surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify.
.@kanyewest’s ‘DONDA’ has now surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. It’s his fastest album to reach this milestone.
This was Kanye West’s fastest 1 billion streams for an album, which is a great thing. However, the album is still overshadowed by Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ as the album reached 1 billion streams in half the time it took for ‘Donda.’
It is likely the CLB album will reach 2 billion streams by the end of this year, a fact that Kanye West wouldn’t be too happy about.
