Rap legend Dr. Dre is working on a new soundtrack for the iconic Grand Theft Auto franchise, according to long-time friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg. The legendary rapper spoke of Dre’s and his involvement in the project during an interview with the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast.
“I do know he’s in the studio,” said Snoop. He continued: “I do know he’s making great f****ing music. And some of his music is connected to the GTA game that’s coming out. So I think that that will be the way that his music will be released, through the GTA video game.”
Snoop, 50, also talked about his upcoming performance at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show on February 13, 2022, according to Rolling Stone. The “Young, Wild & Free” singer will be performing alongside Dr. Dre, Kenrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and Eminem.
“I just think it’s gonna be family. Look at everybody who’s up there. And then look at what they mean to Dr. Dre. It’s a Dr. Dre presentation. So we’re basically him, getting his back, coming through like his soldiers are supposed to line up, when the general say, ‘Line up.'”
Widely considered to be one of the greatest rappers of all time, Snoop Dogg has worked on multiple award-winning songs alongside long-time associate Dr. Dre. The iconic duo have given multiple hits such as “Still Dre” and “The Next Episode.”
